Expectations
by Pamela Griffiths
From the day we are born, we expect certain things
We don’t always get them, we get what life brings
Life is not easy, it can be hard to get by
Sometimes we wonder and then question why
Expectations are there all the time, this is true
Life is what you make of it, your life is for you
No one can help you, if you don’t want to know
There are times in your life when you have to let go
A special event or a love you require
Expect the worst, it can only get higher
Let downs happen, its all part of the game
It wouldn’t do if we were all the same
As years go by expectations they drift
Then a realisation that life is a gift
Fate plays a big part in life anyway
Never mind expectations, just live for today
