I Awake and Choose To Live
by P.J.Reed
I awake
And choose to live:
To smell in technicolour
To watch raindrops
Chase and play
With rippling puddles,
Tickled by
A teasing breeze.
See smiling flowers
Watch the sun
Soar across the sky.
And feel the wind
Run wild and free
Laughing, barefoot
Through our lives:
Whispered havoc
On the breeze.
