My rains
by Vinko Kalinic
Shoulder to shoulder, we are pouring
like old mates, the rain and I.
and it is so, we laugh,
like crazy ones – cause sun doesn’t shine.
The cold water walks after me,
living man walks on a footpath –
falls from the sky, returning to the land:
I after it – like the man with no hope.
Misty eye looks at living water:
every drop awakes memories
– clouds and people spall.
The day shivers, sharper than ice!
the heart remembers, with longing hiding you,
it knows: you are still alive!
