Matrimony by Mike Yuan

on a sunny rainy afternoon
walking alone along a wornout path
i overheard a newly old couple
trying to talk into another honeymoon
yes, marriage is a closed castle
those outside long to get in
while those inside eager to get out
no, marriage is the tip of a fried chicken wing
you get little meat from between the bones
but you do not just want to throw it away yet
