Merging, Emerging
by Shahida Latif
The forsaken are recollected,
The forgotten are remembered,
But one who resides in the deep,
Recesses of the temple of the heart,
Is adored, worshiped in silences,
In solitude to establish communion,
To dissolve, absorb into one entity,
As a dropp merges, mixes into an ocean,
To become an ingredient of eternity,
But vapour again makes it a drop,
To taste pricks of parting pangs,
And to enjoy the pleasures of union,
Combining, mixing into the same origin,
Brings itself out of the confusion,
Enkindles the genuine understanding,
That merging and emerging,
Are the two sides of the ultimate reality,
One eclipses the other when it shines.
