Sting
by Muralidharan Mudaliar
Oh ye sting
Coiled and rearing
Straining to unleash
You
I nurtured in vile
For ages
Vicious, volatile,
Fangs barred
Seething
Closeted in a myopia
I brewed
In your venom
For ages
A temper perennial
A zest –tossed
On the gushes and cascades
But ye sting
I kept you honed
And on your tips
I strutted
And reveled
For ages
O’er life’s main
Over delirium and priorities
Over clouded passages of time
Fangs withdrawn
Simmering
I wonder
Where I gave you up
Sting venom et al
For the wisdom of silence
Over the ages
